This Refunds Policy applies to all bookings and purchases made through Abaton Belize Wellness Retreats (the “Website”) operated by Abaton Belize (“we,” “us,” “our”).
We aim to be fair and transparent while also ensuring the sustainability of our retreat offerings.
1. Nature of Our Services
Abaton Belize offers in-person wellness retreat experiences. Because retreats involve advance planning, limited availability, and upfront operational costs, refunds and cancellations are handled under the specific terms outlined below rather than traditional “product returns.”
2. Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed when:
- We have received the required payment (deposit or full payment), and
- You have received written confirmation from us via email.
By booking a retreat, you agree to this Refunds Policy.
3. Customer-Initiated Cancellations
a) Cancellation More Than 30 Days Before Retreat Start Date
- You may request a refund of payments made, minus the non-refundable deposit (if a deposit applies).
- Any transaction or processing fees charged by third-party payment processors are non-refundable.
b) Cancellation 15–30 Days Before Retreat Start Date
- You may be eligible for a partial refund (up to 50% of the amount paid), at our discretion.
- Alternatively, you may request a credit toward a future retreat, valid for 12 months.
c) Cancellation Less Than 14 Days Before Retreat Start Date
- No refunds will be issued.
- You may request to transfer your booking to another person (subject to our approval), or
- Request a credit toward a future retreat, offered at our discretion.
4. No-Shows and Early Departures
- No refunds are provided for:
- Failure to attend the retreat (“no-show”)
- Late arrival
- Early departure
- Unused portions of the retreat
5. Retreat Cancellations by Abaton Belize
In the rare event that we must cancel a retreat due to unforeseen circumstances (including but not limited to illness, natural disasters, insufficient participants, or force majeure events), you will be offered one of the following options:
- A full refund of amounts paid, or
- A credit toward a future retreat, based on your preference
We are not responsible for additional costs you may incur (e.g., flights, accommodation outside the retreat, travel insurance, visa fees).
6. Transfers to Another Person
You may request to transfer your booking to another individual by emailing us at least 7 days before the retreat start date. Transfers are subject to:
- Our approval
- The new participant meeting any retreat requirements
- Written confirmation from us
No transfer is valid until confirmed by Abaton Belize.
7. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
To initiate a cancellation, refund, or booking change, please email us with the following information:

- Your full name
- The retreat booked
- Your booking confirmation email
- Your request (cancellation, refund, or transfer)
- Reason for your request (optional but helpful)
We aim to respond to all requests within 3–5 business days.
8. Refund Processing Timeframes
If a refund is approved:
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
- Processing time is typically 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider
- Transaction fees charged by payment processors are non-refundable
9. Travel Insurance Recommendation
We strongly recommend that all participants purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers:
- Trip cancellation
- Medical emergencies
- Travel disruptions
- Unexpected personal circumstances
This protects you in situations where refunds are not otherwise available.
10. Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that life happens. In cases of serious emergency (e.g., hospitalization, bereavement), we encourage you to contact us. While refunds cannot be guaranteed, we may offer alternative solutions such as credits or transfers at our discretion.
